Key benefits

Aluminium, Not Plastic — And It Matters Out Here

  • Plastic mesh goes brittle and disintegrates in New England UV; powder-coated aluminium is ember-rated and stays put for decades.
  • Coonabarabran and the Warrumbungle fringe are bushfire country — mesh at the gutter line is one of the cheapest ember-attack defences you can fit.
  • Valleys get meshed as well as gutters, because that's where the leaf load actually builds up on a tiled roof.
  • Mesh is fixed under the tile or sheet edge and screwed to the gutter lip so it doesn't lift in the wind gusts that come off the plains.
  • Downpipe outlets are protected and gutters are cleaned out completely before the mesh goes on, so nothing gets sealed in.
  • Colour matched to your roof or gutter, so from the ground it disappears rather than framing the house in a silver line.

Mesh set under the roof edge and screwed to the gutter lip.

  4. 04

    Valleys & Downpipes

Valley mesh and downpipe guards fitted where leaf load is highest.

Common Questions

Aluminium Leaf Mesh Gutter Protection FAQs

Will leaf mesh stop me having to clean the gutters entirely?

It stops the blockages that cause overflow, rust and fire risk. Fine grit and broken-down leaf matter still settle on top of the mesh over the years, so a rinse every few seasons keeps flow perfect — but you're off the ladder scooping handfuls out.

Is aluminium mesh really better than the cheaper plastic?

Yes. Plastic mesh yellows, cracks and lets go within a few summers of our UV, and it offers nothing in an ember attack. Aluminium is non-combustible, holds powder coat colour and outlasts the gutter it's fitted to.

Can it be fitted to a tiled roof as well as metal?

Both. On tile the mesh tucks under the first course and clips to the gutter; on metal it fixes under the sheet edge. Either way the fixing method keeps the mesh flat so leaves blow off rather than sitting in a dip.
